I've never really gotten the hang of 'dump' so I just use 'tar'. I know
that 'dump' holds up to torture tests better than 'tar', but as long as
you don't do retarted stuff with your filesystem like putting newlines
or null characters in your filenames, then 'tar' works just fine.
tar zcf /dev/st0 /dir/to/back/up
