To switch from an X session to any other virtual console, press
the control-alt-F?? key for that console. X is usually on VC #7, so you
can get back to it with alt-F7 from a text console or control-alt-F7
from an X session. You can start up another X session on VC #8 by doing
something like startx -- :1 tty8.
