I never hit the ESC key when I use vi. I always just hit CTRL-[, which
amounts to the same thing, and is less of a reach. It'd be even easier
with the capslock key remapped to CTRL. Which is where CTRL ought to be
anyway for Unix systems, because unix people need CTRL a heck of a lot
more than stupid capslock! I mean, everything's in lowercase, unless
you use those silly Java or C++ naming conventions with the uppercase
letters everywhere... but that's the subject of another holy war! ;)
