I don't see any mail indent plugin on my system. Do you have one? I do
have a mail ftplugin, but it doesn't do anything with indenting. I must
write emails different than Phillip because having autoindent and
smartindent set hasn't bothered me too much in the past (but when a line
starts with for or do or while it indents which annoys me).

Phillip, this step (filetype plugin on) is important. Indent is
important too for most filetypes. :) but I don't think it matters for
mail.
