When I ssh from some machines, backspace prints out ^H. So I put
stty erase ^H
in my .bashrc.

Now I ssh from a different machine and backspace prints out ^?.

AAARGGHH!!!! How anoying!!! Just work please!!! Let's see, you can
only map erase to one character, right? So what is the solution? I
though about looking at $TERM and determining from that, but TERM=linux
from both computers.
