[uug] Programming for Palm

I may have an opportunity to write an application for the Palm OS.  The 
application will be doing calculations of some kind, if I recall correctly.  
Do any of you have any experience in doing so?  What languages are best for 
small program size, fast performance, etc.?  What should I know, or where 
should I go to find out?
