BYU OIT charges $50 minimum, at $50 an hour(when I had to do it fall'02 from a PartitionMagic disaster). It takes a couple of hours for it to scan the drive(depends on size). I saw the program they used, it's called GetDataBack, I think their service is a total ripoff, all they do is stick the hard drive in and let the program run, they don't have to watch it go or anything... The software is only $70, and it does say it will try to fix the boot records/partition tables if it can. There's a trial version. I'd get this if I needed the data: http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3000-2094-6730657.html Hope I didn't hurt feelings, or expose OIT too much. Just tellin' ya like it is. -Kekoa ____________________ BYU Unix Users Group http://uug.byu.edu/ ___________________________________________________________________ List Info: http://uug.byu.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/uug-list
