-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Yes, 4.1 is still in alpha. You can get the RPMs that I used at
ftp://ftp.xmission.com/pub/users/t/thornock/MySQL/4.1-alpha You'll note that there's an extra RPM there called mysql-dummy. It doesn't install any files. It just notifies the RPM database that you do, in fact, have libcrypto.0.9.6 and libssl.0.9.6 available. (You _do_ have the openssl096 package installed, I hope...) This keeps apt happy. Of course, there are several things in Red Hat that depend on a specific MySQL version, and will have to be recompiled to use any newer version. PHP comes to mind. Perl-DBD-MySQL and QT-MySQL also. But you should be able to just grab the respective .src.rpm files and "rpmbuild --rebuild --target i686" them. I've already done this with PHP, the resulting RPMs are available (except the manual) at ftp://ftp.xmission.com/pub/users/t/thornock/php I probably won't keep these files around beyond maybe a couple of weeks, because my space on xmission is rather limited. After that, I may move them to my (slower) server at home, if there's still a need for them. >-----Original Message----- >From: David Smith [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >Sent: Wednesday, June 04, 2003 06:44 >To: BYU Unix Users Group >Subject: Re: [uug] MySQL4 RPM for RH9 > > >Gary Thornock wrote: > >>I have RPMs for MySQL 4.1 that I've used on RH 9, if that helps.
