When I want to install a program from a tar.gz or tar.bz2 where do I usually put the tarball before I "unzip" it. Is there a standard? And another question. I'm following someone's documentation on installing courier-imap and it says to reconfigure after you run the make check. How do you do that? And can you also reconfigure after the program has been installed?
