The above are the best three sites, not just for Javascript, but for all 
DIY web development.  HTML, XHTML, CSS, DOM, XML, it's all there, and 
the references and tutorials are *excellent*.  Learn the technologies, 
then you can go around and once you find a site that you like, you can 
read their code to find out how they did it.
