I've already said something about this on UUG, but everything is now working with Hans' system and Hans has given the go-ahead. So, here it is (a more ``permanent'' location, at least until traffic starts picking up): http://www.fugal.net/~filmwatch/ The timecodes in there now are not so great; they provide a proof-of-concept more than anything. Getting good timecodes is hard (and possibly traumatic) work! :-) I have a nice long to-do list for this site. It works, and as time goes on, it will work better. Expect to see community moderation and simple discussion forums as the next step. So, let's start submitting events! I would encourage everyone to start with The Matrix, and then move to either Gladiator or Braveheart =66rom there. If various members of the community add just a few events each, we can get a pretty beefy collection of events for EDL files. ``That movie is pretty clean, except for that one part'' will become a non-issue with technology like this combined with community participation. All the software needed for the system is Free Software (MPlayer), and the services are donated by various members of the community, so nobody pays a dime to use Filmwatch (and nobody makes a dime either, for that matter :-). The idea is to tear down any barriers, financial or otherwise, that might keep people from protecting their homes from harmful media content. Linux and Free Software is the perfect starting platform for something like this.
