How strange that you classify this action as infantile, childish, and
without purpose but to get fame. Knowing the people that you do in this
group that support this, do you really think that they are only out for
fame? That's a rude characterization of the quality of people that we have
here. The motives of this protest have been well described and are duely
well founded.

Is fame part of it? To a small degree, yes. "Hey, isn't the BYU UUG the
group that protested infront of SCO?" Sure that has a draw to it, but not a
sole motivation. Is attention part of it? Yes; that's the purpose of a
protest -to draw attention to your cause; "We don't appreciate SCO's
tactics."  Another motivation is to stand up and let SCO know your opinion;
you may believe opinion should be left at home, others on this list wish to
make their opinion known (in a non-childish way -a lawful, organized
protest).

I also find it offensive that you say the list has gone "down" so far and is
"so far off". You talk as if for the past few months, nothing
good/productive/worthy has gone on here. In fact, you refer to this list as
stupid people in a large group. Seriously, how unjustly rude, and
ill-perceptive can you be? Are these the claims that you truely wanted to
make?

Writing the way you did, I believe you didn't read all the emails pertaining
to the topic. Perhaps you read only a couple which may have contained a
distasteful poster slogan. Again, the reasoning behind this has been well
stated and is agreed upon by many members of the list -fame is not one of
them. Perhaps you should rethink the characterizations you have made of
your friends in this list.
