Weird...well anyway, he wrote more than that but...I checked on HP-UX and $SHELL is set to /usr/bin/sh when I'm in ksh. I'll have to chsh to bash tomorrow (it's quittin' time) and see what it says. On my redhat box when I'm logged in with ksh (pdksh actually, of course) $SHELL is empty. I can't find where $SHELL is initially set up on either system.
