Dan, for downloading Debian CDs you really should use jigdo; it will allow you to use any nearby mirror and not just one where there's an iso. It's faster and less load on the debian servers. Plus it's pretty cool. :) Speaking of mirrors for Debian, I have been experimenting with using apt-proxy and it works quite well. If you have a good connection to phantom and use debian, try this source: deb http://phantom.byu.edu:9999/debian/ sid main non-free contrib If you are on BYU's network (e.g. live in Wy(view|mount) or the dorms) this will probably get you 400-500KBs. (You can replace sid with sarge or woody if you want) Now, let me point out that this is different from the apt-rpm mirror we had before and removed because of space, because it is a cache that uses a fraction of the hard disk space. If someone knows of something similar for apt-rpm I'd be happy to do the same there.
