If you install gxine for redhat it installs a mozilla plugin and it will automatically play the mp3 for you, like windows. You might also try plugger out for mozilla plugins. It will even display a word document right inside your browser with open office, just like windows does, if you like that sort of thing. At least I think it worked like that last time I tried.
