Hi everyone,
I was looking at some of my VERY OLD mail (1998) and I found this
e-mail for UUG from Matt Probst about SCO (well, Caldera back then).
It's amazing to see how much the tables have turned.
Look for this quote below:
"Caldera Linux 1.2 is probably the most robust and stable Linux Distribution out there"
Crazy, I know,

This Thursday, March 26th, at 7pm in room 120 of the TMCB (different
from our normal location of 1170) the Unix Users Group will be having a
meeting on network security. Our own Jaime Yukes will be the speaker.
Come learn about the importance of data and network security and ways you
can protect yourself from those hacker teens with too much free time on
their hands.
Caldera will privilege us with a presentation on their latest and greatest
Caldera Linux 1.2 distribution. Just released, Caldera Linux 1.2 is
probably the most robust and stable Linux Distribution out there. Lots of
Give-aways, folks.

IMall, a local company that is well known on the net, is looking to hire
Unix sys-admins, programmers, and PERL Programmers. They are looking for
Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced skill levels. Salaries and benefits
are excellent. I might also add that the experience alone is of great
value. If you are interested or know anyone who is interested in
applying for a job, email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
It might help if you recite to him the BYU UUG slogan:
"Live free or die: UNIX"
so he'll know you are one of "us". :) You can also relate to him the BYU
UUG theme song: (sung to the tune of those old Mushroom air-freshener
commercials):
There is UNIX, on my desktop.
There is UNIX, on my laptop.
There is UNIX, on my servers,
and a lovely feeling in the air.

UUG Elections will be held at our Closing Social which will be held

Stacey Son, founder of I-Server, (and one of BYU's "old-school" Unix
people) will be speaking to us. This is a must-see, folks. We will have
prizes and lots of Free pizza. Admission to this and all UUG events is
free. UNIX and pizza.. what better nirvana can there be.
