Ok, I've got a really anoing problem. I recently installed rh 9 on my
laptop, then downloaded and instlaled the fedora version of apt, ran
apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade then apt-get install for a few
things (gaim, and a few others I forgot to have the rh9 installer
install for me) Everything is running really nice, exept for one
thing. Gnome now freezes after a few minutes. Or, more exactly, the
gnome panelles freeze. I tried googling, but found mostly references to
redhat's support, and they were mostly looking for more info, but they
already apeared to have what I could offer. I can still use everything
else, basicaly. Some other partiulars of the situation, I can't use
keyboard shortcuts to get the run prompt, the panel menu, or to log
out. I can switch between desktops using keyboard short cuts, and I can
switch between pannels(all frozen) and the desktop, or between windows
using shortcuts. I tried removing all of the .gnome files/folders from
my home dir, then even all .* files and folders. I deleted the user and
created a new one. I even tried reinstalling rh, but still no luck.
Does any one have any ideas? Please? Or any ideas of where to start
looking? Thanks!
-nathan
