Normally I just ignore these posts, because they usually come at a deserving time when the list needs rebuking for off-topicness. But I can't let this one slide. I will let slide the comment about having kicked someone off the list -- I have never heard of that happening
List volume for the past week:
142 messages from 12/08/2003 up to your message (not including your message).
16 off-topic (my standards may be looser than yours, I allow discussions of BYU Surplus sales, vim questions, GUI programming questions, etc. as on-topic)
88.8% on topic.
Prior to the "LDS woman in photo thread", this was 133 / 7 = 94.8% on-topic
I think we're doing pretty well. This site is a community, not a tech-support line. It's a community with a purpose, so we should and do try to stay on topic. But if we get off every now and then, that should be expected.
If you are frustrated, you are welcome to leave at any time. Note: we are *not* /asking/ you to leave, on the contrary, we'd be disappointed if you choose to do so. We'd love to have you around and receive your valuable input. We'd love to have you as part of our community.
