somebody else on the list might have had experience with Apache 2 + DAV
on linux and getting varied clients to access server via DAV

I've got RHEL AS 3.0 w/ Apache/DAV/mod_auth_ldap/PHP, etc. I've created
a DAV dir, and can access it directly from Win2k, Mac OS 9/X (via
Goliath). But WinXP fails -- it insists on adding the server domain name
to the user name when authenticating. For example, if my server was
uug.byu.edu, my user name were tux and my password were racer, all the
other clients simply send "tux" and "racer" -- but WinXP insists on
sending "uug.byu.edu\tux" and "racer." My error log, naturally, is full
of rejected attempts to authenticate against our LDAP server.

Does anybody know how to get WinXP to send the proper credentials? I've
been googling for a couple of ours now . . .

Dave

I seem to recall having this problem with Squid proxy authentication about a year ago. I don't remember how we fixed it (googling right now), but I am pretty sure this isn't a DAV specific problem, which might help you find the answer.
