Fascinating.  Open two xterms, and in each, run `od -c /dev/random`.  On my
system, one gets almost all the entropy.  And entropy_avail sits at 0.

That might qualify for a kernel patch - root should get priority on
/dev/random, and others should have equal access without getting starved.
