I was going to suggest the same, then I realized FunctionX is probably something that MRB didn't write and can't change (well, he /can/, if it's open source, but that's not the point). Like I want to call some method in someone else's API, which writes to STDOUT, but capture it's output and munge it on my own before presenting it to the user.
