I have found this to be dependent on the burning media you are using.
Some brands of CD-R's work wonderfully with my burner (Memorex) and some
spit out coasters _every_ time (Maxell), yet with different burners I
get different results. In the burner in my family's computer the Maxell
disks work fine. You might try another brand of media.
