Hello,

I recently installed RH on my Dell Latitude c800 laptop and all I can
get is a text login. X will not start. among a lot of other things it
says XIO: Fatal IO error 104...
I've done a bit of reading, after the install, and find that in the RH
installation guide it saps specifcally to use the clossest Generic
Laptop diskpay type. I used a Dell Laptop display type and I wonder if
that is my problem. Hoaw can I change my X configuration, specially the
display type, from text mode. Installation Guide says use
redhat-config-xfree86, but this is a graphical based program and so I'm
stuck. Is there a text only based program to change by X
configuration? Xconfigurator is not longer part of Redhat Linux, at
least not in version 9.0 My chipset is the ATI Rage Mobility M4, RH
wants to use Rage 128 Mobility driver when it tries to run but it
fails. RH HCL lists my laptop as certifed hardware at verison 7.0 SBE,
I interpret that to mean all versions since. A I wrong on this point?
