Ok, I'm joining the thread a bit late, but since I'm posting this from my Zaurus 5500 on a street in Paris' 10th district - from a wireless point I found from warwalking with my Zaurus, I think I have something to say.

1. I love my Zaurus. However, it is not a PDA. It is a palmtop computer running Embedix, with some PDA apps, but the fact that there are so many available on eBay shows that too many people who think they are buying a nice PDA don't understand what they're getting into.

2. The boxed Zauaus OS is nice. I will try OpenZaurus when I get back - I don't have time right now. The PIM apps are ok, but they don't sync with Linux (I only sync to backup). There are a lot of precompiled backages for most Zaurus OSes. I run Apache, PHP, MySQL, Perl, VNC (server and client), Samba, SSH, etc. I even can listen to MP3s, when I'm on campus, that are stored on my office server. Yeah, 40GB iPod? I got a 2TB Zaurus :)

3. Also, the Zaurus has both CF and SD slots. I got a SMC 802.11 in the CF and a 128MB of RAM in the SD.

Regards,

Jeremy
