Building on that concept, you could work some java script magic to have some lines (one veritcal, one horizontal) follow the mouse, to make it "appear" more wysiwyg to the user.
Thwere may also be a java applet solution -- but I'm not aware of any. You could always have the picture be an imagemap, where you click on the image and it sends the coordinates of where you clicked. The first click could be the upper-left boundary, and the second click the lower-right boundary. Then you could draw a rectangle or something on it with the php image functions to show what's going to be cropped, and allow them to change it. It's not _very_ wysiwyg, but I don't know if you're going to do much better with a web-based system. Anybody else have ideas? ~ross ____________________ BYU Unix Users Group http://uug.byu.edu/ ___________________________________________________________________ List Info: http://uug.byu.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/uug-list ____________________ BYU Unix Users Group http://uug.byu.edu/ ___________________________________________________________________ List Info: http://uug.byu.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/uug-list
