Look for CLISP. I believe it's a GNU project and the most widely used LISP implementation out there right now. While you're at it you may want to check out OCAML. All the functional-ness of LISP or Scheme, all the object-oriented-ness of C++ and all the speed of C. It's pretty interesting.
