Not all of Texas is strange and foreign. Dallas, Austin, Houston, and
San Antonio are the only places worth visiting/living. I grew up in the
woods of East Texas, moved back after graduating from BYU, ran like a
scalded dog back to Utah. Make sure you eat plenty of barbeque. They do
the real stuff down there. None of this burgers and hot dogs business.
Get brisket, sausage, and pork shoulder. It's great for your heart.
Also, if you dig the blues, Austin has some cool joints to check out.
Have fun and remember, you are the one that sounds funny.
