Hello, everyone,
My experience with car repairs is limited to the knowledge of the names of the parts that have gone out in the cars that I have owned, and once I changed my own oil under the tight supervision of an experienced car mechanic. Which class should I take at BYU in order to progress in my car repairing career?
Those who have learned to fix cars already would probably tell me that I should not bother taking a class, but instead find somebody who already knows how to fix cars, does it regularly, and see if I can convince him to allow me to be his assistant/apprentice.
Well, it is about the same way with programming. This is one of those things that are nearly impossible to teach in a lecture. Some philosophy of programming can be, but unless you already know how to program, the philosophy will go in one ear and out of the other. If you want to learn the skill, follow the car mechanic's path.
