I started using LaTeX for note taking during my senior year. I had
EMACS macro's set up to take care of bulletted lists and what not.
After a few classes of doing this, I just fell back to good 'ol plain
text. If I ever need to write an equation, I just write it in LaTeX
math, and then mentally render it when I read it later. :-)

$\frac{\sum_{x\in A}{ln(x)}}{\phi-\lambda}$

And you are going to cover whizzytex, right?
