[uug] Wireless insecurity demo

I'm teaching two sections of a tech for teachers course (IP&T 286/287) 
this semester and we're covering basic security concerns, and I want to 
scare them a bit (to get their attention). We meet in the "wireless lab" 
in the McKay building and all the students are using checked-out Mac or 
Dell laptops with 802.11b (I think, it might be g), broadcasting 
unencrypted to the BYU access points. I know a lot of the students are 
sending email, or browsing non-class related material, and I would like 
to stop after a minute of lecture and read some lines from an email, or 
maybe have sniffed a password of someone who will have given me 
permission before hand.

I've tried setting up my laptop to run ethereal and dsniff, but I can't 
find Linux drivers for any of the wireless cards I have. The Windows 
drivers block all non-destinated traffic, so that's out too.

So, as a last resort, I would like to invite one of you to come to my 
class, and sniff a little traffic for me. I would need you for the first 
few minutes of a class on Monday (this comming or the one after) at 2PM 
and 4PM. In exchange, I will take you out to lunch at the Cougareat on 
Tuesday. I could get you into the lab just about anytime before the 
class to make sure it'll work.
