Thanks for all your help... it seems that I've been spinning my wheels and getting no where... I've done some testing, and here is what I found out:

It appears that mysql is doing great. I say this because when I use mysql query browser, MS Access via ODBC, mysql-front, and phpmyadmin, it shows the accents perfectly. So, I don't think it is mysql.

This leads me to believe it is ColdFusion or the browser. I don't know why it would be ColdFusion, because when I used ColdFusion to query the data out of MS Access, it worked great. Perhaps ColdFusion is assuming a particular encoding (or guessing wrong) when it queries mysql.

Unfortunately, this probably isn't the list to get that question answered :-)

I suppose I could try to move the data to MS SQL server and see what happens :-).

Anyhow, I appreciate everyone's help, if you have any more ideas, please let me know.
