In case anyone's curious, it's resolved for my computer now. The CS
guys added the Ubuntu mirrors to the whitelist which reduced the
failures I was getting during "apt-get update" (although it was still
slightly broken). Then, I switched from using "us.archive.ubuntu.com"
to just "archive.ubuntu.com" which cleared up the rest of the problems,
and now the machine is up and running and working fine. (Thanks, CS guys.)
