Does anyone have any recommendations for forum software use for family communication... something similar to what myfamily.com offers, but that I can host myself with php/perl/mysql/etc. I want the ability to post entries including images, etc to be very easy.. (including automatic thumbnail creation,etc). I would like to be able to archive the sites pages in static html... (possibly just using wget... but if I could export directly, that would be even nicer).
My thoughts so far: - Perhaps use Wordpress with some plugins - phpbb with (protected by basic http auth so I'm not exposed to the constant barrage of phpbb's security problems).
