Try and disable the router/firewall functionality on your linksys router.
Basically put, set it to "access point" mode.  If your linksys has this
capability, once you assign it an ip address and turn it into an access
point, you can plug a network cable from your existing setup (just like you
would be plugging a new computer into your network) and it will defer all
routing, firewall, DHCP, etc to your main desktop webserver/router.
