I'm trying to get freenx server (nxserver) working on an Ubuntu amd64 box. I followed the instructions to build the debs here (using the "FreeNX on PowerPC" section actually):
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreeNX since there appear to be no debs for x86_64 for freenx (and why can't I just install the x86 debs, I thought amd64 was all backwards compatible cool like that). I can now connect from windoze using the nomachine client, the window appears with the big !M logo and black background, and then nothing happens. Eventually a dialog comes up that says, "No response received from the remote server." I'm pretty stuck here. There is log file at /var/log/nxserver.log, but it's empty.
