Well, as an update, I finally got around to having my laptop on campus and connected - and it all works like a charm. I currently have to disable my firewall to get rdesktop to work, and I'm not quite sure how to add that in. I'm using Firestarter as the GUI to manage my firewall, and I _think_ that it only does one device... anyway, I'll look into that some other time. At least now I can tell the MTC that it works from regular campus buildings - but not from Wymount. If I can get them to allow me to connect from Wymount then I can probably figure out what the minimum was that I needed to connect, and how to setup my firewall.
