It's all part of the Unix world. Here, however, badder grammer and sppelin' are a giv'n. When we write "if ... fi" 10 times a day, your mental wires start to get messed up. And egos? We would run Unix if we didn't run big egos. We are just not as easily offended. I think it comes from all those syntax errors we get when trying to compile code. It humbles us.
