Dear UUG, Has anyone else noticed lately that Firefox on Linux is, um, performing poorly, to try and keep this civil? I was playing with one of those fancy web 2.0 ajaxy websites, you know, one of those that's full of javascript that let's you drag and drop stuff around and resize windows by dragging the corners, and it was torture. All the animations were choppy, you had to click and hold for a couple seconds before you could drag anything, and stuff was basically bad everywhere. I was just about ready to write off this whole ajax web 2.0 craze, but I went over to windoze, still on firefox, and it was smooth as a desktop application. What gives? I thought Firefox was, like, the flagship piece of open source desktop software, but it's lame on Linux? Should I try Opera? Should I switch to windoze? OS X?
