I've been using Osborne Certification Press' "Java 2" to prepare for the exam as well as some test simulators. The book is better at explaining what gotchas you'll find on the exam, but the tests are easier to take and score on the simulator.
This is of course only relevant if you are going after the certifications. I found Sun's online Java Tutorials pretty good when I was first learning Java. If you've programmed in C or VB before you might also like Sun's Core Java 2 books. I think the second volume has an intro to JSP. By now there may be a Core JSP book available as well. ;-Daniel Fussell -------------------- BYU Unix Users Group http://uug.byu.edu/ The opinions expressed in this message are the responsibility of their author.
