UUGers: This Thusrday we'll be hacking Qt code to write the world's simplest (and stupidest) chat server. It'll sport a total of 1 chat room, infinite users, and zero authentication. But think about how productive you'll be when you can type messages to each other in a chat room! That's right, it's time to bring 1992 chat technology to 2008. I've written the server already, and it is written in Qt/C++ as well. It will be running on teh Internetz remotely, so you can even join in from home.
If you want to code along with the presentation (highly encouraged), please install Qt on your box before the meeting. On Debian based systems, you'll need to install these packages: libqt4-dev libqt4-gui libqt4-network libqt4-core See you all there! --Dave P.S. Free pizza will be provided. -------------------- BYU Unix Users Group http://uug.byu.edu/ The opinions expressed in this message are the responsibility of their author.
