Well, I don't know how useful any of you might find this, but a number of us are still in school, anyway. I've written a little memorization program that I've used at various times to help me learn Spanish or Slovenian vocab and to memorize scriptures. It could potentially be used for any time you have to memorize something, like dates for a civ class, or whatever you want. The basic idea is that it's like flash cards on a computer, but it uses an algorithm to decide which cards need to be reviewed, and keeps track of that for you. I recently added some features I thought made it a lot more usable when you have hundreds of words or scriptures in the program, so I thought other people might benefit from it. I don't know if something like this already exists for free; if it does, well, I had fun anyway.
Anyway, if you're interested, the code is in a git repository. You can get to it with this command: git clone git://aml.cs.byu.edu/memorizing.git You run the program by running run.sh from the main directory of the repository. I'm open to any kind of constructive feedback. Happy hacking! Matt
