One of my RAM chips went bad in my laptop last night. Programs were crashing left and right today as I was using it.
I had tried installing something and it corrupted the download and the package didn't finish installing. Now I've removed the faulty chip and things are running again, but I get an error that I can seem to fix. sudo apt-get update ... normal stuff ... Reading package lists... Error! E: Problem parsing dependency Replaces E: Error occurred while processing libgl1-mesa-glx (NewVersion1) E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened. I've googled around a bit and tried sudo dpkg --clear-avail sudo apt-get --fix-broken install sudo apt-get --fix-missing install sudo apt-get -f install sudo apt-get -f remove libgl1-mesa-glx Nothing seems to be working Any thoughts?
