I just thought that it would be worth noting that the new windows supports
linking with
mklink

mklink file1 file2
mklink /D dir1 dir2
mklink /H hard1 hard2
mklink /J harddir1 harddir2

If you happen to create scripts that need to be cross-platform, there's a
good chance that you can use links on windows and have it work (or they will
work soon)
