Something for everybody to think about. Elections should be happening soon. I'm not sure about a date, but I'm hoping that we can have them wrapped up by the end of the month. I will hopefully be leaving Provo by September, so I will not be running for any offices this year, but I'll definitely be willing to help out the new presidency with anything that they need.
Please send nominations to the list. Self-nominations are the best kind, though throwing somebody else's name out there is okay too. Here are the positions: President Vice President Secretary Librarian Webmaster The president is ultimately responsible for organizing everything. That said, the vice-president and secretary don't actually have defined responsibilities, and should be willing to assist the president with planning and preparing club meetings. The librarian is in charge of the club's collection of books, and should have a place on campus to store them and keep them available to club members. The librarian also maintains relations with publishers, forwards their monthly emails to the mailing-list, and nags club members who have received books until they submit their book reviews. The webmaster is in charge of maintaining and improving the web site and the club's server. --Topher -------------------- BYU Unix Users Group http://uug.byu.edu/ The opinions expressed in this message are the responsibility of their author.
