As I remember, convert can convert .raw files to .jpg if there is an
extension installed (which may be standard by now, depends on your system I
think). What created the file? I know I have been able
to successfully process my cannon raw files, although the utility that came
with the camera seems to do a better job, but it only runs in Windows, one
of the few reasons to keep a copy of Windows around somewhere, even if it
isn't your primary environment.
