Have you tried using moused? moused will give you mouse capabilities (copy,
paste) in the standard linux console (outside of X). You could try that and
see if it also gets screwed up on resume. If so, then the problem is at the
kernel/device layer, but if it works, then the problem is in X. You could then
reconfigure X to use the fake mouse provided by moused.
