My brother has been showing interest in pen testing, and I was thinking of getting him a text book on the subject for Christmas.
I've done some cursory searching on amazon.com, and found a few books that seem good (Hacking: the Art of Exploitation, Metasploit: the penetration tester's guide, Nmap Network Scanning, etc.), but are there any books that one in the field would consider to be required reading?
