Subject: [nsgic_state_rep_list] FW: White Paper on Spatial
Infrastructures
Greetings, everyone!
I am pleased to provide you with a link to the most recent addition to
GITA's Geospatial Dimensions of Critical Infrastructure and Emergency
Response White Paper Series: "Spatial Infrastructures: A Better
Understanding of Infrastructure Interdependencies Through Spatial
Information." This paper, authored by John Moeller,
Northrup-Grumman/TASC, Chantilly, VA, and Dan Shannon, TELUS
Communications, Edmonton, Alberta, is intended to "help readers understand
spatial data infrastructures, their value in managing, using, and sharing
spatial information and services, and how they can assist citizens and
their corporate, academic and government institutions in addressing some
of the vital issues confronting our nation and its communities."
As with the previous White Paper on "Interdependencies of Infrastructure"
issued in late December, we are seeking comments and responses from a
broad spectrum of professionals within the geospatial industry, as well as
from practitioners in other fields beyond geospatial. Please feel free to
circulate this paper to your colleagues, members, constituents and anyone
who has an interest in the application of geospatial technology to our
infrastructure problems. We welcome any feedback and proposals to
collaborate in this area.

I hope your New Year has gotten off to a great start - all indications are
that it will be a very interesting and challenging period for us all!
