Hi All

Two questions:

1) How do I get .e00 files into arcMap? I am running ArcGIS 9.2 and my
license type says its ArcInfo.

Here is what I tried so far based on my look through the help screens on
importing e00 files.

I downloaded a zipped .e00 file of a bare ground LiDAR tile, unzipped it,
and tried to import using ArcMap quick import from the data interoperability
toolbox and when that failed I tried import coverage annotation from the
conversion toolbox which also failed. Then I tried the same thing in
ArcCatalogue. As the quick import failed, I checked my extensions and sure
enough data interoperability is not checked, BUT I can't get it to activate
even though it does not say that the license is not available - the error
message is 'the extension could not be activated'. Is this because the UW
license doesn't have this extension or is this because I finally have to
update to 9.3 or???? When I tried the 'import coverage annotation' command
which I thought would see the .e00 extension, it couldn't see the file even
though it was clearly present in the folder I directed it to.

2) So assuming I get the LiDAR data into arcMap, is there a script that
someone has developed to calculate percent slope given the level of detail
in LiDAR?

I have downloaded Luke Rogers' LMSAnalyst tool for arcgis 9.x, but if I
remember correctly it calculates slope based on polygons and not what I
assume would be raster data in the LiDAR file.

Thanks so much

Elaine
