A colleague at U of A asked me to spread the word on a position they are
looking to fill at their library. Note there is an informational webinar on
September 12 for those interested in applying. Please spread the word to people
in your network whom you think would be a good fit (especially if you think
they would be excited about warm, sunny Tucson winters)!

The University of Arizona Libraries are an Equal Opportunity Employer for
Minorities/Women/Vets/Disabled, and we have a tendency to throw in everything
possible into these jobs, so someone who hits most of these requirements should
feel welcome to apply. To this end, we are hosting an informational webinar for
those interested in applying for the position, which will take place on
Thursday, Sept 12, from 10-11am Arizona time at this link:
https://arizona.zoom.us/j/89777924910. All interested parties are welcome to
attend; we will not make note of participants and your participation will be
anonymous to others on the call. Please feel free to reach out to Jeff Oliver,
hiring manager ([email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>) with any
additional questions as well.

We are specifically looking for someone who will be enthusiastic about bringing
GIS to the campus; we have a lot of interest and activity in this space
already. The minimum requirements are a master's degree in something and
advanced experience with GIS applications (so something more than undergraduate
work, basically). Our Public Health dept is one of the bigger interested units
around campus, so experience in that domain would very much be a plus!
